Has anyone noticed this? A recent regression?
Anyone else can confirm? Stupid as it is, it's not something we can release with! We can't even make screenshots while this deformity is not cured. I looked into the code but didn't find anything obvious. If someone who can see this and has some spare time would be able to bisect the SVN to find when it was introduced, it would be helpful.

Yes, I noticed it as well. However, I don't think it's super recent. It doesn't seem to be caused by my window manager or theme either.
Cheers, Josh
Bulia or Josh, can you give us a screengrab to show what we are looking for? Erik

Are you on Windows? if not, can you give me your GTK version number?

I don't see this with "Inkscape 0.46+devel r20798 custom, built Mar 1 2009" on linux. It appears I have gtk 2.14.

I have 2.15.4, and upgraded to it recently. I will now downgrade to 2.14 and see if it helps.

I am on 2.16.0 currently for the record.

OK, I fixed that. No idea why it worked before without the requisition method, but now I added this method and it works again.

I assume you meant you fixed the squashed ruler problem. Huzzah.
Also mentioned in this thread was the blurry icon for the zoom tool button.
I'm still seeing the fuzzy magnifier icon in the left-side toolbox as of 20967. I committed a change to line 377 of src/widgets/desktop- widget.cpp which chooses a different magnifier icon. If someone can't find a better way to fix the actual rasterizing/caching bug here, I'll add a brand new dedicated icon for desktop-widget to use for "zoom-on-window-resize."

I've touched on it elsewhere, but it turns out to regressions in behavior as some of the new icon work undid fixes I had put in, instead of just adding on to things.
Now that I've got some other things finished enough to check in, I'll be backing out those changes that broke/blurred things. Bulia had even contacted me about them, but I had already bee n working on collecting the info, broken screenshots, etc. That's allowed me to verify what problems are actually being encountered and how to fix them.
Indeed, I don't have the problem on Windows.

Guys, I confirm the fuzzy magnifying glass in the toolbox. I also note that if you change the icon used for the "zoom-if-resize- window" button in the UPPER RIGHT, that the toolbox icon is no longer fuzzy. They use the same icon, and we are stretching a 16x16 icon into a 24x24 tool. This seems like a caching problem to me.
