today i noticed that when exporting that if selection is used everything in the Bounding box is exported not just the selected object(s) is this behavior correct or should i file a bug. did i quick search of bugs nothing found. using cvs from early this morning

Yes this is the correct default behavior. I may implement "hiding all but selection" option later.
