Hi, i use OpenSuse 10.0 and Inkscape allways crash on startup. I had this error with different versions from Suse and also with a 0.43+devel (Jan 7 2006) compiled on my host

Have you read the 0.43 Release Notes and removed those suspect theme libraries? Then you should at least be able to start up.
I will admit, however, that inkscape has still problems on OpenSuSE 10.0, as such a system crashes cvs here when opening the Fill & Stroke dialog.

Have you read the 0.43 Release Notes and removed those suspect theme libraries? Then you should at least be able to start up.
Yes i have read it . The KDE Baghira theme and the package gtk_qt_engine are not installed. I dont use KDE i use Gnome-Desktop. Any other suggestions whats the problem?

I should add that this was under KDE. When I completely deinstalled KDE and tried under Gnome, it worked. So, did you try with Gnome?

i could not delete all KDE-Packages thats breaks my system. A lot of apps i use depends on KDE-Packages
So, did you try with Gnome?
