Problematic documentation changes in r10697

Revision 10697 moved most of the documentation from .cpp to .h files. This means extensive recompilation whenever a documentation change is made, and therefore it discourages improving documentation for no obvious gain. If there was a desire to have all the docs in one file, they should have been moved to the .cpp file with the help of commands such as @class and @var.
Unfortunately this revision mixes the pointless moves with useful fixes, so I can't simply revert it.
