is this the version with my fixes from yesterday (i.e. current 0.92.x) or did you already change anything?

Regarding .msi vs .exe I tend to vote for keeping the NSIS (.exe) installer for several reasons:

* Just half the file size (~50 MB compared to ~100 MB) due to LZMA compression. I have a patch that allows to reduce MSI file size to ~70 MB but it's still a considerable difference. * The NSIS installer is a lot more sophisticated in its current state (Chris Morgan put a lot of work in it at the time...). One example: localized content is really only installed as an option (including tutorials, templates, docs, etc.). * Possibility to create a "PortableApp" (I have not looked into that yet, though) * I heard people complain before when there was no exe installer (exactly the same way like when there is no MSI installer) so we should offer both if we have the possibility * I already put some work into updating and I'm working on the NSIS installer as we speak, so if we dropped it all that effort would go to waste. I'm a bit displeased that you didn't voice your opinion when we were talking on IRC the other day or intervened in the original mailing list thread where I mentioned I was working on it but instead chose to direct a new request at the mailing list asking to drop the .exe installer altogether...

That being said I'd support a solution where one packaging system could create both, an .exe and an .msi installer since maintaining two systems clearly isn't optimal. However I guess such a major refactoring would be better targeted at Inkscape 0.93+ and it might be better to stick to what we have for the 0.92 release.

reason: The .exe installer is based on NSIS scripts whereas the .msi installer is based on native MS installer toolset. They do not harmonize together, that means a .msi does not detect existing .exe installed Inkscape and vice versa. There will be definatelly problems when both systems are installed "in parallel".

The .msi installer has advantages in deeper system integartion (distributable in MS domains) and save removal but currently lacks translation.

I do not have download numbers of .msi vs .exe but I think we should prefer the .msi as nr 1. Could we come here to a consens not to publish .exe installer?
