Launchpad Inkscape demo
Hi all,
The Launchpad crew have run the import scripts and set up our info on the Launchpad demo site:
https://demo.launchpad.net/inkscape
I'll post some tips and tricks for getting good use out of Launchpad later on, but for now please just review the bugs and see if you spot any major issues with the import.
Bryce

Hi Bryce,
I've completed the demo import of Inkscape bug reports. You can view the results here:
https://bugs.demo.launchpad.net/inkscape/
As I mentioned previously, the demo server uses a whitelist to filter outgoing email traffic. I can add addresses on request.
For developers who already have Launchpad accounts, it will be necessary to merge the $USER@...58... account with their existing one. This can be done at:
https://demo.launchpad.net/people/+requestmerge
I've added two of your bryce@...961... and bryce@...58... accounts to the whitelist so you can test this. Just enter the users.sourceforge.net email into the form and you should get an email to confirm the merge.
Developers/users without a Launchpad account can register with their users.sourceforge.net account to claim their bugs. They can then add additional email addresses to the account as normal.
James.
----- End forwarded message -----
On the first bug I opened, there are dates far in the future, e.g. 2012!
see https://bugs.demo.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/157587

Thanks, I wonder if it is particular to specific users (e.g. bulia). Let me know if you spot other bugs with this problem.

The categories of SF bug tracker (objects-markers, objects-nodes, objects-pattern, osx, other, printing, solaris, stable, styles, svg-xml, ui, ... ) were exported as Milestones which seems kind of strange. Are these "milestones" just considered to be tags? In a bug report I cannot find a way to assign a keyword to a bug other than by setting a Milestone for it. I would expect milestones to be version numbers or something similar, rather than bug categories.

It also doesn't look like attachments came across in all cases either.
here is one example but there are more

Thanks, this sounds like a bug. Can you point to a few bug url's showing this problem and I'll report it up.
Thanks, Bryce

The front page shows the list of "Milestones" which are not milestones: https://demo.launchpad.net/inkscape For the rest I can't really be sure now because I can't merge my SF id in Launchpad (I tried entering my sf email there: https:// bugs.demo.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/159993/+login in the register box but I am still waiting for the email from Launchpad). Anyway, this bug: https://bugs.demo.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/159993 for example has a tag which corresponds to its category on sourceforge and a milestone which corresponds to the group. Its original verison on sourceforge is here: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php? func=detail&aid=1821094&group_id=93438&atid=604306 I would suggest turning also the "Group" into a tag.

I don't think all the account stuff works on the demo site. It's a pull from the production system every couple of weeks with other additional data for demos like this. I don't know that it will create the account properly, and it will probably delete it. You'll be better off creating one at launchpad.net for when/if the final copy comes across.
