I was thinking of a way to manage my barcode plugin and was thinking that the way plugins currently run (i.e single process modifies document) is not how a barcode should be managed. it should be some kind of object plugin which allows you to modify the code and see the update in the bars, having the svg on the page will be a must, it would just have hooks so that if the plugin is there you can edit the object with some gui or what ever is required.
