When using pserver, are you logging in? :ext: doesn't require you to log onto the CVS repository, but :pserver: does.

Hmm! AFAIK, SourceForge uses 'ext' not 'pserver'. Try checking it out like this:

cvs -d :ext:a_b@...318...:/cvsroot/inkscape co inkscape

Yes, it works with ext. I finally committed that translation.
