Since we're so close to the release I stuck with the most conservative changes, but they should still result in a measurable improvement when loading large files.
I've tested and everything seems OK, but it wouldn't hurt to double-check me given my track record as of late... :/

Not bad - the 5Mb file now loads in 46sec (was 1:39).
I'll test what I can but so far I don't see anything broken.
