Inkscapers,
This page has been lying to us ever since the paths in the svn were reorg'd. I've seen more than one question about it on IRC and I don't even spend much time there.
http://sourceforge.net/svn/?group_id=93438
There is no
https://svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/inkscape/trunk
In an effort to get sourceforge to change this page (I'm under the impression that the page cannot be modified by inkscape devs (Is that correct?)), I submitted the following bug and was met with the (also following) rubberstamp reply. I am in no way accusing level1 support of putting too much thought into the issue.
Is there a better way to get through to the sourceforge staff or some other way to get this page corrected?
Thanks, Eric

Summary: Feedback (confused) about DocID 31070 (en)
Initial Comment: The following feedback has been submitted via the DocManager feedback reporting form for group ID 1.
Document: 31070
Group: 1
Doc Section: toc
Language: en
Feedback type: I was confused by this text, and think this text should be clarified. (confused)
Feedback text: The inkscape developers elected to re-org their svn layout to inkscape/<module>/trunk/ rather than the automatically-created inkscape/trunk/<module> layout.
Thus, the info on this page has been misleading to many users.

Wow... that helpdesk response was less than helpful. If I'm not mistaken, the page with our svn info is automatically generated by sourceforge. It would have been nice if he had said what issue to raise with us... such as, SF only supporting the original layout of the repository, our project having the ability to change that page and not knowing it, etc... anyone else know if we can change that page and it's just not obvious? Do any of the project founders that have "the keys to the shop" have that ability?

I poked around a bit but there doesn't seem to be any obvious way to edit that page. From what I know about how the SF site works, I am very doubtful they'd grant edit access to a page like that.
What you might do is try and find another project that uses subversion and see if the same error exists there, then send a bug report with a subject like "SourceForge Subversion Directions on Web are Incorrect" mentioning that it is the standard text for projects and it is wrong.
If you watch SF's queue, you can see they get a LOT of tickets, and they get a lot of grumpy people, so I think they like spending the least amount of time on any given ticket. When you do reports to them, keep it short and blunt, with keywords that'll make it extremely obvious how to route it.

I still think we need to put a bee in their ear more directly about this per-module trunk thing.
It turns out that the reorganization approach I took makes rewinding prior to the migration annoying (as bulia can attest). To avoid that, the per-module breakout really needs to be done as part of migration.
Isn't there some contact person at SourceForge for the beta SVN users to talk to?

I already wrote to Jacob Moorman a couple of weeks ago about this, when he asked for the projects to send in their feedback and ideas. And this has been noted by more peojects than just Inkscape, I think.

I'm assuming that most people come to this page via the SVN link on the inkscape.org site. This is certainly not a 100% fix, but we could likely avoid many problems if we pointed that link to a SVN page of our own creation. Thoughts?

Wow... that's so simple it's not even funny. I think it's a great idea!
