Hi everyone,
Some guys have asked in the forum about an autopackage for 0.46. I think the developer mailing list seems to be a better place to ask that. As I think no one has done it yet, I'm trying to ask now, because I'm interested in an autopackage for 0.46, too. :)
Here are the forum threads:

Hi Jan,
It seems to me that the .package file mentioned in the third link here is pretty close to the 0.46 release, but is actually based on the source code trunk, not the 0.46 branch. In other words, it will have some more experimental features in it, and will thus not be quite as stable, but I think it should be fairly usable. I can't test this as I'm not currently on linux.
You might notice that there are packages for Suse and Fedora mentioned on both the Inkscape front page and download page. Ted Gould was saying that the Ubuntu Hardy package might work on debian, but might need some slight re-jigging, so if you know anyone who's got the ability to try that, it might work.
Cheers,
Rygle.
