grep 'Inkscape Preferences' -r /path/to/source/code
Then edit the found file and recompile.
Is it because of HIG incompatibility?

I really doubt it. Reading this: http://www.nabble.com/change-the-Inkscape-Application-t3847132.html
It looks like there's an undergoing effort to rebrand Inkscape. The final aim is unknown to me. Anyway I've a rough idea, as I've just found this: http://sauveros.com/site/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=2...
So, please read *very carefully* the term of the GPL licence (available in the COPYING file in inkscape source tree).
Cheers, Luca

Looks like another Luxuriousity/eBay one. At least they don't claim to having invented KDE and Linux kernel :)

I would go even further and suggest making 'Add value" an official suggestion/encouragement to all bundlers, resellers, rebranders etc. That's what we do in Audacity project (the "Sauver.Music" will clearly be "rebranded" Audacity, judgung by experience). Value can be tutorials, samples etc.

Which returns me to my original thought on the subject:
bizarre.

Another of his posts, in relation to OpenOffice: http://www.nabble.com/forum/ViewPost.jtp?post=9938353
Sounds a lot like an effort to rebrand open source and sell it as proprietary software.

If they are not including the COPYING document, and/or are not providing source code, then they're in violation of the license.
