Hey All,
Any volunteers for possible mentors? When/if we apply later this month, it would be good to know how many potential students we could handle.
Cheers, Josh

I will be a mentor.
Also volunteer as a co-admin. I seem to recall that there was some need for that to help with load balancing, etc.

I could also be a mentor. I'm still eligible as a student, but I expect that my master's thesis work won't allow me to commit the necessary amount of time this year.
What is the deadline to make a final decision?

It appears that the student application deadline is 12pm on 4/6 (my guess is Pacific time). So I would suggest taking that into consideration. If you have a good idea before that of which you would rather do (mentor or student) that would be good. Obviously the sooner we know, the better. I would say the hard deadline would be the obvious student one set by Google, but you also wouldn't have much flexibility to modify an application if submitted close to the deadline.
Other dates that might be of interest (given your school schedule) on the GSoC calendar are: 4/24-5/21 is the student & mentor familiarization period 5/22 Students officially are required to begin working on coding 7/9-7/13 mid-term evaluations 8/13 suggested pencils down date 8/20 firm pencils down date 8/20-8/24 final evaluations
Cheers, Josh
