Hi all!

Thought it might be a good time for an update on Summer of Code proceedings. Essentially, my approach so far has been to tackle a bug or two, as suggested by Richard way back in April, before moving on to the interface redesign. I chose "[ 1243190 ] SVG Text: tRef Elements do not work" to work on first because it should give me a hands on feel for text in SVG and help me become familiar with certain aspects of the Inkscape architecture. After this bug, I may choose another or dive into the UI stuff; it depends on how long this one takes.
