dont destroy the hide menu button. just add a shortcut key combo to show/hide it ;-)

Well, those who know what they're doing can still hide it by editing preferences.xml.

I'm still undecided though. Maybe enabling F10 to show and activate menu, plus a warning on hiding it, will be enough protection? What do you think?
