I attempted to fix all of the broken images that I could find in the inkscape_web module. Please svn up and check for any broken files, let me know if you find any. I'll keep fixing. Something still isn't right with publishing via svn. Seems that there are a lot of files in the webroot that are not group writable.
Will anyone object if I drop the wp directory from svn?
Before the new year I had taken an evening or two to see if I could switch the wiki to mediawiki. Perhaps we need to think about having a wiki party day, where we can concentrate on getting that content moved to another wiki with better anti-spam measures. Any comments?

Count me in. When we move to mediawiki I can help get it configured for spam protection, and other stuff as needed. I've been meaning to help out with this but have been distracted by other stuff for a while.

Speaking of distracted, I think I started working on the wiki conversion around December 4. This morning I ran a trial conversion on the wiki tarball rejon gave me. Hey look, it works.

I guess all we have to do is freeze wiki.inkscape.org, tar it up and move forward, if people can deal with running wikiless for a day while I refigure all this out.

Excellent! Looks like we've got some cleanup work, but probably not too extensively.

I think that's probably fine. Looks like most of the activity over the past few days have been despamming anyway.

Ok:
I blocked the old wiki, put up warning on site, and put the current snapshot here on shell.sf.net: /home/groups/i/in/inkscape/inkscape-wiki-2006-01-21.tar.gz
Thus, once you (Aaron) have converted the wiki, then email/IM me, I will then email mental to change the dns entry wiki.inkscape.org to point to inkscape.org/wiki and then remove the old install from fd.o.
How does that all sound?

Ah, wait a minute. What do you want me to point wiki.inkscape.org at?
The sourceforge web server? Or?

My offer to monitor and revert spam on an about daily basis via mail (the mon.) still stands.

This goes for other devs as well. Please create an account and contact me with your username. As Bryce suggested I think we will hand out sysop privileges quite generously. Bureaucrats can assign group membership from one of the special pages.
I've already had to block a user who spammed the front page. Is there anything we can do to these people?

You could make a script that directly revert all changes of the specific user, and block him in the firewall or maybe, just block his IP adress for doing a POST.

Ok, I think everything is up and running right now.
The website seems to be updating from svn. I fixed all the corrupted images that I could find. The wiki has been converted to mediawiki and I updated the links on the website.
Please let me know if you notice any other problems.
