So I decided to start a blog because I wanted to have an accessible place to write about LGM. I have a generic LGM post in there now, but I took notes during the talks I saw so I intend to write in more detail about those in the next week or so. I'm not sure exactly what I will put in the blog in the future, but it will definitely be limited (in general) to technology/computer science related things. I'm not sure if it makes sense to add it to the inkscape planet page.
Anyway, here's the link: http://compscigail.blogspot.com/

We had talked about a planet SoC page, but I'm kinda thinking we should just integrate with planet Inkscape as it hasn't been that high of traffic of late. What does everyone think?

Yes, please, lets consolidate as much as possible (here and all through inkscape and other shared projects).

I like the idea too.

I think it'd be quite appropriate to Planet Inkscape. Granted, we need to get Planet Inkscape back up first.

Oh crap, that is on freedesktop.org under the create project. We can move to the inkscape server if there is energy and willpower...

I'd like that, actually. While Nicu's been great running the planet, I think a higher bus number is worth the extra effort for self-hosting.
So what're the steps? Just set up a Planet instance on the inkscape.org machine and go? I'll need to repoint the DNS name, of course.

- set up a Planet instance (just unpack the tarball) - copy the configuration files from the old instance - mostly the .ini but maybe also the templates and css - copy the head icons from the old instance - set up a cron job to update the planet site
In the long term Planet Inkscape could use a face lift, its template and css is old and was made to fit the look of the old website, I am fully aware about this but failed to update it so far.

So what is the outcome of the LGM? Any influence into the inkscape development?
