Translator credits in about dialog

Hi all, actually the translators list in our about dialog is hardcoded in src/ui/dialog/aboutbox.cpp. It looks quite outdated and without any changes for a while, plus I think it is quite difficult to maintain it as-is and update with latest right data and copyroght at each release.
So I propose to adopt the mechanism of "translator-credits" as in use and widespread across the gnome framework, because each contributor knows all local contributors better than us. (see http://www.gnome.org/~malcolm/i18n/tips.html )
I've made a patch for it, but as I'm not a programmer I'm asking for comments/corrections. It's attached here.
Any opinions on it? May I commit it now (we aren't yet in string freeze) or should I better wait post-0.45?
Cheers, Luca

It looks good technically.
Is everyone okay with showing just the translators for the current language, though (which would mean none, for English)?

Yes
Then let's apply the patch and start getting the translator credits into the pofiles.

I agree too. The translator who is editing the po file should also include the translators who did the tutorials and the website. At some point we could probably make this automatic (at least for the tutorials) if we go the xml2po way for handling the tutorials (works fine for the German tutorials).

actually I've used the "translator_credits" option in other projects to show not only the last translator, but also the ones before me. For example in ggv (from GNOME 2.8):
#: src/ggv-window.c:544 msgid "translator_credits" msgstr "" "Lucas 'Basurero' Vieites <basurero@...1626...>, 2002-2003\n" "Sun G11n <gnome_int_l10n@...1627...>, 2002\n" "Daniel M. Germán <dmg@...1628...>, 2000\n" "Pablo Saratxaga <pablo@...356...>, 1999-2000"
This will show a small list of the latest translators which can be recovered from the po file's header.
Cheers,
