Hi there,
I don't mind the Inkscape UI on Windows, but was wondering if it is being considered to give Inkscape a native-ish look on Windows, or even if there are any means to doing so?
Also are there any docs on the Inkscape site that pertain to compiling it for Win32 w/ gtkmm? Either by x-compiling on Linux or using cygwin/mingw, I'm interested in how you guys do it.
Kind regards, Hal

Sure, check this out: http://wiki.inkscape.org/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?Win32Port

Well, our UI is programed in GTK+, so there is some restrictions to what we can do to make it more like a Windows program. I think a better approach would be to help out on the GTK+ Windows port to make it behave more like a Windows application. One thing that is constantly complained about with Inkscape is the dialog boxes not being handled correctly. If you could fix that, it would probably help Inkscape, GIMP, GAIM, etc.

For a start, we officially switched to the GTK-Wimp theme for Windows, so that helps. Otherwise, there is currently a patch that the GTK+ folks are reviewing that will fix the transient window issue... if that's what you're talking about.
