Hi, all,
Good news!
I received an email from Sourceforge yesterday concerning Subversion service testing. This was in response to an email we sent them many months ago when they first broached the subject, where we requested that Inkscape be considered as a candidate as one of their test projects. This will start on the second week of next month.
Quoting from the email:
Participating projects will be provided with Subversion service from SourceForge.net as part of the Beta. Users of your project will be able to access (read-only) the project Subversion repository. In exchange for being provided early access to our Subversion service, we will ask your project team to report to us problems, questions, concerns, and suggestions for enhancement, as soon as issues arise.
Pending successful beta testing, we'll be launching this service to all hosted projects. Beta participation is optional, but we would appreciate your participation in the Subversion Beta if it is a good fit for your project. Your participation will help us to roll out this service more quickly, with a high quality of service for projects.
Note that GCC followed this plan recently, where there was initially a read-only Subversion view of the repository. When people became accustomed to it, they made the complete switch.
This is, IMHO, wonderful news. Subversion without the pain or rehosting.

Very cool, it'll be nice to finally be able to switch over!
