Inkscape 0.35 is released and kicking. Grab the files here:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=93438
This is the first release of Inkscape, and it's a great start for the project. Recent additions include new keyboard shortcuts, alternate node joining method, ability to apply text to multiple text objects, an Open Recent menu item, and more. The codebase has also been modified to allow it to be compiled with either the gcc or g++ compilers. See the Release notes for more info:
http://www.inkscape.org/release_0_35.html
Please download the code, try it out, and report any bugs found to the Inkscape bug tracker.
Congratulations to the dozens of people who have helped put this release together and get this project off the ground.

What happened to the debian directory?

Hmmm, not sure. I promise it's nothing against Debian ;)
I think that those files should be in EXTRA_DIST in Makefile.am no? Or perhaps we could do something with the dist-hook, though I consider dist-hooks kinda a hack.
Do you think we need to make an 0.35.1 for this, or just grab it for 0.36?

ppc deb is now uploaded. awaiting sf.net's return for the i385 .deb
both are for Debian unstable.

Looks like it's still there (in CVS)...

I think that it needs to be in the tarball too, right?

No idea, I've never packaged deb's before. Can you check out the tagged codebase and build the deb from that?
If the debian dir needs to be in the tarball, could someone familiar with Debian put in a bug report about getting 'make dist' fixed to stop excluding it?
Thanks, Bryce

I think the patch attached does it.
By the way, I would like to know if there is any plan to change the file 'debian/changelog' in the repository, to be able to build debian package out of the box, with a regular 'debian/rules binary', like I comment in a post a few days ago. I can send you a template to make a new one if you want.

Already done. I moved the old one to debian/sp-cl and started a new one (shamelessly putting myself as maintainer :) Only two Debian users so far. We're going to have to be more obnoxious, I mean, ah, we need to put forward a more active Debian presence thingy.

Thanks, I like to see things moving so fast :-) . I'm not a debian package expert, but I can't help if you want.

Ya know...
It might be handy for you ummm... err... 'vocal' Debian guys to take a look at participating in the OS X group. There's a need to get things going under fink, and that appears to be built on standard Debian packaging and tools.
So Debian feedback there might be helpful.

Ok, just in case you applied it directly, there is some kind of mess with carriage return in one of the lines... and 'make dist' doesn't work. Sorry, first patches in my life :-).
I think this is fine (I hope).

It would be nice.
BTW, I've uploaded an i386 and a ppc debian .deb. I'll upload a src .deb as soon as I work out how.
