[Fwd: SCALE to host Birds of a Feather Sessions!]
I don't think many of us were able to submit a paper/full presentation but how about an Inkscape BOF? It would be cool to have a few of us give 15 min demos of how we're using some Inkscape features in our line of work - I'll volunteer to show off how I'm using it with GIS (nodes, layers, potrace). Anyone else interested ? John

“BoF”s are “Birds of a Feather” sessions. They're intended for those who would like to get together with others with interest in a similar subject.
Linux Expo of SoCal would like to host your BoF at the Fifth Annual So Cal Linux Expo February 10th & 11th, 2007. The BoF sessions will be 45 minutes to 1 hour long.
If you'd like to organize a BoF at SCALE, the Expo will publicize it and host it for you. Please send the following info for consideration to g@...1153...:
- Title of the BoF - Brief description of BoF topic - Group hosting the BoF - Contact person for BoF (discussion leader/moderator,etc)
Thank you and we look forward to seeing you at SCALE 5x

I think that would be cool. Do you think we should have an Inkscape BOF, or something larger like a Graphics BOF?

I think an Inkscape specific BOF would be appropriate/appealing, especially if we had 3-4 mini presentations. Maybe an interop would be interesting (ie cairo, scribus, gimp, or blender). And mine would be as much about SVG as Inkscape. We could play to the broad spectrum that Inkscape does: artists, vector graphics, and free linux crowd. We could repeat the demos at the booth too, sort of like what we tried last year with featured presentations listed on the white board. I've copied in Gareth to maybe get his opinion.
Yah, unfortunately I can't make SCALE this year again...bummer...have fun though with a BOF...
Yah, a larger BOF would be a good idea...maybe more of a Create BOF (including all creative apps)...
