So...
Who cares about icons?
Themes, styles, names, fallbacks, matching FDO and CREATE and Tango!, etc...
In squashing the Evil Giant Eyeball (which mutated from the horrid large eyeball), I've landed square in the middle of icon code again, so was wondering if anyone has things to be addressed while I'm in there.

Speaking of which, I'm going to start dumping some ArtLibreSet ones into Scribus 1.3.4cvs soon.. this week I hope.

Ahhh....
So one question I'd have is if the icons listed and names used in that list are sufficient.
Probably not, but I have some icons from Andreas Nilsson already and will put them in and see what CVS users' reaction is. I will rename our hardcoded icon names to the new names from ArtLibre and get them in. Once thats done, oneof us will consider theming options with no hardcoding at a later stage.

I like the idea of a standard classification of icons/icon sets. Sounds almost like a W3C thing.
Yet they mention consistent icons across applications. How can they expect this from any architecture other than ones over which they have influence? "Hey works on Gnome" or "Hey, works on KDE" is just as parochial as "Looks fine on Windows."

Tango guidelines are written in an OS/desktops consistent manner. Which is why Tango icons do look good in both GNOME and KDE. I'm actually planning to do tangofication of icons in Hugin that is written in wxWidgets and used on both Windows, Linux and Mac OS X.

I care about icons, a lot. :) The list on the artlibreset-page is far from complete, and this is where I need your help. What icons are needed in Inkscape? I've been focusing on the icons in Scribus lately and Jimmac has been working on the icons in GIMP [1]. GNOME has been starting to implent the icon-naming-spec, and as far as I have understood, the same is being done for KDE4. I'm going to put the icons from scribus into artlibre soon, and jimmac is going to do the same with his gimp-icons. The icons sizes we will be using is 16x16, 22x22 and scalable. - Andreas
