Change in behaviour: Import image auto-groups the image
In trunk, all images dragged into the canvas are automatically put in a group. Is there a reason for this change?
It's been a bit of a pain over the last few weeks, because:
1. It requires ungrouping the image, or clicking into the image group to view image properties 2. It requires the same to trace bitmap.
Any ideas as to why this change was made?
Thanks. :)

I am currently not able to compile trunk, but I tested 92.x instead.
problem not reproduced on Windows XP, Inkscape 0.92pre1 (Oct 25 2016) rev 15137 I am attaching the result I get when I drag a png onto a blank canvas. No new groups are created. Could you attach the result you get from this operation?

CR uses trunk :)
This is an unexpected side-effect to the resolution of https://launchpad.net/bugs/394503 ; I'll push a fix tomorrow of thursday.
Thanks Mc! -C
