Hi!
Maybe this is a little offtopic question, but there are any debian/ubuntu package from the recent cvs? (A src.deb would be perfect)
(When I build from source, I dont have extension menus)

"If the Effects menu is not enabled (missing in the Menu Bar), go to the Misc tab of the Inkscape Preferences dialog (File-> Inkscape Preferences... (Shift-Ctrl-P)). Check the "Enable script effects" box and restart Inkscape."
