I'd really love to see beter text tools and better image links management in Inkscape for 0.48: - An improved text tool with the ability of setting other units than pixels, better inline style edition, break words with hyphenation for better looking justified text blocks. - Better management of image links (manage absolute and relative links properly) and a simpe UI to fix broken links or relink images. Also a proper interpretation of the resolution of the imported images (i.e.: if the document's default units are cm or inches, read the resolution value of the image and scale it to fit the proper size).

Those are in my oppinion some weak points in inkscape that should be revised as soon as possible. I think I can wait for the animation features proposed in the current roadmap.
