Re: [Inkscape-devel] F9 + KDE 4.0 (and 4.1) + Inkscape (missing color picker widgets) [SOLVED]
Hi Joshua,
I'm guessing that you have gtk-qt-engine-kde4 (debian/ubuntu package name) installed and Use My KDE style in Gtk apps selected.
Yes, that's correct, for F9, it's gtk-qt-engine-1.1-1.fc9.x86_64.
Do into the system settings->appearance->GTK styles and Fonts pick the use another style option pick a regular GTK theme will make them look normal, ugly but normal.
Thanks, that was it!
System Setting -> Appearance -> GTK Styles and Fonts -> GTK Styles -> Use another style -> <some other option than Qt4> (I used Nodoka)
Again this looks like a GTK-QT Theme Engine bug.
So would it be better to report this bug to the GTK-Qt Theme Engine devs, or the Nokia/Trolltech guys?
Thanks.

Mike,
I would bug the GTK-Qt guys first. They can always talk to us if they feel it our bug and not their's. It could be our older code base (pre-fork) is the issue but that first glance it looks like it just a case the haven't fully covered.

Okidoke, will do. Thanks again for the help with the workaround!

I would wager that the fault is likelier to be in the initial code. However it could be that it is counting on the theme engine to operate in some specific way.
I know that it is basically stand-alone painting code involved, since my patch tweaking it is *still* waiting in Sodipodi's project.
SourceForge bug #863661 [ 863661 ] Enhancement for color slider arrows http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php? func=detail&aid=863661&group_id=4054&atid=304054
I point that out since the patch itself should pinpoint the drawing code in question.
