More bugs with stroke
Just a few more bugs to report with the stroke dialog: 1) on a circle, the stroke width value spin button only increases even when trying to spin down. 2) End Markers a) for a line pointing to 8:00, the start/end marker is reversed, and then won't change b) at times the end marker popup does not display all the choices, or when you select one, it jumps to another.
I would rank these as medium level bugs.

Can't reproduce on Ubuntu / cvs. This is probably the one that was fixed after 0.42.2

Can't reproduce on Ubuntu / cvs. To be exact, for me, start/end is reversed in all directions with the pen tool. Is this intentional?
Please give the exact steps to reproduce.

Please also give your system and inkscape version.

I'm running 4.2.0 on Debian Unstable so if something was fixed in 4.2.2 I won't have it. I'll try to update.

Well, I went back and did some more testing and zooming up and a couple of things: 1) The popup box for the end markers does size funny, sometimes there is a large blank area on top. 2) There are start1 markers but not end1 markers just end2 markers 3) Yes, I was confused by the direction of the markers relative to the start/end but it does seem to perform okay. 4) In drawing lines with the bezier tool, it is easy to accidently add another very small line at the end before double clicking to end - then the end marker is reflecting the small line.

I said *after* 0.42.2 so you would need cvs/snapshot or wait for 0.43.

This is a gtk issue, we can't do a thing about that.
- There are start1 markers but not end1 markers just end2 markers
Fixed after 0.42.2 IIRC.

Not really, I think this is one of the bugs that were fixed in 0.42.2.

Yes, I'm annoyed by it too. I can understand the logic behind it - it's so that the selected item is always under the mouse. But I think the same goal can be achieved in a more natural way. Someone really needs to bug GTK for this.

Yes, I fixed that one.

What do you mean by "reversed in all directions with the pen tool"?
I can't reproduce John's bug either.

My earlier post addressed this - it has turned out to be more a usability thing (at least since I upgraded to 0.4.2.0) - regarding some of the confusion regarding the icon directions in the combo box list - since there are separate combo boxes for both start and end, I would find it easier to recognize if the list was labeled as left or right pointing arrows, then the direction of list label icon would match the drawing direction - not sure how others feel, but it just doesn't seem intuitive to me to be selecting a start1M for an ending marker with the arrow pointing the other way. Thanks for the fast response and I'll try to upgrade to 4.2.2 to see any differences.
