Hello all,

There is still thrown exceptions when using calligraphic tracing. It is almost overdue time to get it removed/inactivated.
Preben
terminate called after throwing an instance of 'Geom::ContinuityError' what(): lib2geom exception: Non-contiguous path (src/2geom/path.cpp:355)

Hello Ted,
thank you for this information. I tried to build a new version for windows with svn but i'm wondering. In the build.xml the name is still "0.47pre3" and after building, i can see whiteboard in the menu. In the build.xml whiteboard is excluded... so why is whiteboard still activated?
So i thought my svn content is wrong, but i deleted the content completely and startet svn again to get "new" sources. Unfortunately, the result is the same.
Sincerely,
UweSch

How exactly much time do translators have? :)
Alexandre

Thanks Ted.
*Issues*:
- I missed a couple of very minor things in InkscapePortable.nsi (neither are important, just warnings about an unused variable and a constant in the language file which is never used, but if it were it'd be missing, so I put it in anyway), and decided to fix them because I can (if an NSIS installer can avoid all warnings it simplifies the job of the compiler). I've attached the updated InkscapePortable.nsi. - I missed a small bit in packaging/win32/portable/readme.packaging.txt; the "inkscape" build directory contains gdb.exe which also shouldn't be included. Updated instructions for committing are in the attached readme.packaging.txt. - I forgot to ask Josh to make sure that packaging/win32/portable would end up in the source distribution and it hasn't. Could someone who knows how (and is allowed to commit...) update some makefile somewhere so that all the files in packaging/win32/portable get into the source distributions? - mingwenv.bat is missing from the source distribution. Could it please be added to the makefiles for next time? - The bz2 didn't work entirely properly for me last time, so I went for the zip; this time I tried the gz first, still not proper, so I'm working from the zip. The problem (as perceived by 7-Zip) is duplicate files, PaxHeader.NNNN folders (which duplicate everything), and similar. A 7-Zip format source bundle could be the best idea: the LZMA compression scheme achieves better results than even bz2, and is faster as well. However Jon Cruz and jpa- have pointed out that for *nix the permission-keeping feature of the tarball is useful (and LZMA doesn't support that) so I guess that the gz/bz2 will be remaining. 7z would be a nice alternative to zip though.
*Download* Here are my builds for Windows which I've done.
- Inkscape 0.47pre4http://inkscape.chrismorgan.info/win32-builds/Inkscape-0.47pre4-1.exe(35.9MB download; normal installation 215.6MB; installation with all languages, 265.6MB; MD5 c1f0c662ce6b9388c59459eb7821b67e) - Inkscape Portable 0.47pre4http://portableapps.chrismorgan.info/portableapps/InkscapePortable_0.47pre4.paf.exe(40.1MB download; English installation 87.6MB; multilingual installation, 159.7MB; MD5 366a3359f21e7a0075b9218009a4c882)
I want to put a special thanks to MIT for the 5MB/s upload :)
That must be nice... it takes me 25 minutes to upload my 40MB...

Do translators have to update NSIS files as well by the way?

No. The launcher just uses the standard PortableApps.com launcher strings (PortableApps.comLauncherLANG_ENGLISH.nsh), and at the moment we (i.e. PortableApps.com) only support English for the launchers. I would expect the changeover to fully multilingual launchers to be coming in the next few weeks as we (John T. Haller, the head guy at PortableApps.com, and myself) switch over to using an INI-based launcher; it'll be easier to manage multilingual capacity then. The installer is done with the PortableApps.com Installer package (a base script and wizard to generate NSIS installers for PortableApps.com apps), and it comes with lots of language support to start with... full support for about 38 languages, I believe.

Chris, I uploaded your files to the sf section. Thx. What about to add win32 and/or setup to the installer filename? So people identify the file as setup instead self-extracting archive.
I do not know if there is a win32 specific check for the md5 sums? Do we need for every single foo file an other foo.asc file?
Adib.

win32 has been removed since 0.46 as the .exe makes it obviously Windows. "setup" might not be such a bad idea... I dunno though.

MD5 or whatever. Personally I reckon it's redundant, as the NSIS installer includes a CRC32 check in itself (it'll baulk if it's wrong), but MD5 is fine for those that like to check all their downloads :-)
