Not really; I was wondering whether it might be a bug in Xvnc. It is interesting that Windows also seems to be affected, though -- that suggests SPSelectContext really is doing something very unkosher with the selection cursor.

Just to be absolutely sure we're dealing with the same bug, could you try setting a breakpoint on sp_select_context_update_cursor in gdb, and then stepping through it to see if it crashes there? Bob or other Windows folks should be able to help you out with that if needed.
