Hi, everyone.
If I select some text and open the Text & Font dialogue I can select Helvetica Normal no problem, however if I select Helvetica Black, Narrow, or Ultra <anything>, I just get Normal.
Similar things happen in Gill Sans, Futura, Frutiger etc.
If I try to edit the xml to show any of these varients the xml editor replaces them with "normal".
Anyone know why?

Hey Thomas!
It's a known problem and I'm sure there is a bug about it (because if there hasn't been, I have reported it). Point is that as for now Inkscape only supports the standard tags as you know them from html, such as bold and italic. Unfortunately I do not know about a work around.
Take care!
David
PS: In case I'm wrong, please somebody correct me :) it's just what I remember from when I asked that question myself.

What OS are you using Inkscape on? In which format are your fonts (ttf, pfb, otf, dfont,...)?
