Hmm... Looks like this is the same as the mariage with Corel during the 90's Xara will remain Xara (same management, same products) but will be part of a "mother" company.
Hopefully the Xara LX project won't be wiped out...

Unfortunately, yes.
Charles Moir confirmed that to me yesterday.
I have of course opened the door, if they change their minds.
But the fact remains that they say they are not coming this year.
Anyone know what this means for their open sourced version?
This is a good question. I would ask directly the people involved in the project, though.

Ah, thanks. Well they will be missed, although to be honest we haven't seen as much direct participation with them this past year as we'd anticipated coming out of last year's LGM.

This is a good question. I would ask directly the people involved in the project, though.
Judging from the perceptions expressed on the talkgraphics Xara forum, there does not seem to be any optimism that it will be supported, and there is even some uncertainty about the Xara product itself. But perhaps some clarification will be given by the company once the dust settles.
