Boost served a purpose in allowing me to get some basic graph layout functionality working quickly, but in the end it was kind of a hassle. The templates within templates within templates were scary, it took ages to compile all the boost headers and there were compiler warnings that we just couldn't do anything about. I, for one, won't miss it. Jon Cruz was right ;-)

At this very moment, I was about to submit a revamped boost detection for configure, which was mistakenly ack'ing versions below 1.33. I will do this now for stable only. Meaning: connector layout requirement in 0.44.1 is >=boost-1.33.
