First prerelease of all the goodness being expected in Inkscape 0.43. This is not recommended for production use, it still has known bugs in it. It is recommended that you download it, play with it, and find more bugs.
If all packagers could try to make packages from this tarball, that would be helpful for removing packaging bugs. I think that I missed some from the last time 'round, so if you could put them in the tracker that would be excellent.

Hi, does this mean String Freeze? Just asking so I can get around to translating the missing strings.
Thanks,

Ciao,
win32 compiling works, if I rerun the provided /src/*.pl scripts. I reopened a packaging defect ( 1254657 WIN32: release note not included with the release). The patch solving this is 1334818 FIX: 1254657 WIN32: release note not included with the http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1334818&gro...
I am curious if I am now stll allowed to directly fix packaging and translations in the CVS or if I have to go through patch tracker ?

Although I'm not in the position to change your status, let me say that I fully support your plea. You certainly have contributed to inkscape as much effort as I, and IMHO you should get CVS write access.

sorry for missunderstanding. Let me clarify: -I have CVS write access -in a certain status of the project development all patches have to go through release wardens. Is it Hard freeze ? -Since we have released an RC0, are we in that hard freeze?

There are some files missing from the 0.43pre0 tarballs. The absence of jabber_whiteboard/session-manager.h causes the build to fail pretty early on, but it looks like there are about 30 source files missing from just that directory.

Ah! Okay, I know what the problem is there. I'll fix it for pre1, could you put the output in the tracker so that I don't forget? Sorry about that.

What should I do for the autopackage? Should I change my build to not include inkboard for pre0? Should I wait for pre1? Are we going to put up a pre1 with the correct files right away?

Out of curiosity, was the wrong branch use for pre0?
The Pedro branch may still have some issues, but HEAD was fine, last I checked.

No, HEAD was used. The issue is that I do the releases on a clean checkout, and I didn't configure that to use the whiteboard, so those files didn't get included in the distribution. What needs to be done for conditionally compiled code is that the files need to be added to EXTRA_DIST so that they'll always get included in the tarball.
