Hi,
I'd love to know about our plans for inkscape.org. Some time ago it was proposed to move to Drupal, and there was even a theme contest at DeviantArt.
Right now I have here an experienced webmaster interested in Inkscape who could turn a ready-to-go design into PHP templates or whatever you want. Do we have a new design? Do we have anybody to work on new website?

Hey Alexandre,
The plan is still to move to Drupal. As for the theme, the contest effectively died out due to an apparent lack of interest. I had talked with Mental and another person (sorry, I can't remember who :/ ) that was working on a potential theme, but the author's interest in that too seems to have waned. So, that piece needs to get resolved. Additionally, Drupal is installed on our server, it just need to get configured (well, and themed). Unfortunately, all of my inkscape time has been going into improving the gradient toolbar (and it's slow going), so the configuration effort has been standing still. Anyone wanting to work on the website would be greatly appreciated at this point.
Cheers, Josh

It was I, and my interest has not waned at all. I was a bit disappointed that I couldn't get something together that made sense, and then I got busy. I think about it constantly, though, especially more recently as I've been doing a bit more web design.
I'll be happy to pick it up again, in particular after we move (which will be for the next couple of weeks), but I can do bits here and there. Though I'll be perfectly happy to let someone else do it if they have the time and desire.
Sorry to have dropped it.
One other thought is that maybe we could try another contest, though I don't know if that is likely to produce any more results than previously.

count me in, I can help with theming and Drupal in general.
If I remember correctly there were people on DA offering CSS/HTML templates, that can help as a first step.
Perhaps part of the confusion (and lack of initiative) was caused by lack of information in some areas. Apart from the visual design and coding a theme there is an issue of what features (modules) should be included, which also affects the visual layout. Drupal 6 is very powerful, what exactly can or should be used to improve Inkscape website? It also wasn't clear how to proceed to gain access to drupal admin area so contributions can begin, is there someone in charge of approving and implementing changes?
