spray tool in next release ?
lo
i'm guessing if it would be possible to plan an integration of the spray tool, soon. It usable now, and last fixes will be done in the next 2 weeks, which is inkscape planning too.

Hey Cedric,
So, I won't try to speak for anyone else on this (others, please chime in though!), but, as the release coordinator, a release warden, and as someone that has been through the release process many times... my vote would be a solid NO.
If we want to get anywhere close to releasing 0.47 according to the proposed release schedule, it seems like a really bad idea to me.
If others state a strong desire to integrate this tool prior to 0.47, the only acceptable way would be getting it committed to trunk ASAP (before the 1st) with a commitment from the students that they will participate in our bug hunt weekend on the 9th & 10th (this will require hanging on irc/jabber too).
Cheers, Josh

Not sure how much my opinion is worth, but it to me it's bad idea to add a new tool at this time. It's not only a matter of the tool itself possibly having bugs. For example, we don't have any toolbar space left - one more tool and the tool selector will be large enough to have a spillover menu on 1024x768. It's not very convenient to use then.

Speaking of not having enough room for icons in the toolbox (spray tool), has either a double vertical row or flyout menus ever been considered? For instance Rectangle, circle, and polygon could be combined in a fly out. Maybe the last tool used in the flyout would be visible until a new tool is selected.

We always intended to display hotkey in a tooltip for each tool. If we group them this way, tooltips will be much less discoverable, IMO.
