this is a really nice idea!

One little issue: when xlink:href contain a relatve path, gimp does not find the image. Try to edit externaly the image used in share/icons/feConvolveMatrix-icon.svg Its xlink:href attribute is set to "./ticotico.jpg"

PS: I have seen sodipodi:absref="ticotico.jpg" Doesnt absref stand for "absolute reference"? If so, why isnt it storing an absolute path to the jpg file? Also, I guess, absolute paths in xlink:href are evil, since they often only work on the drawing author computer :-P
