Re: [Inkscape-devel] Problem with gtk?
Bob, can you be my personal hero? That was perfect!
(...looking around office for laurels...)
Sorry, the only ivy I have here is a dried out one...
I had tried recompiling gtk to a lower version just a bit ago, again to no avail. Then I moved "preferences.xml" to "bob" and it worked like a charm. Sweet!
I'll let you know if it continues to do this intermittently in the future as it has in the past.

I compiled inkscape .45-pre2 to no avail. I don't like this. I'm trying some posts elsewhere to see if I can figure it out.
Joshua,
This might not have anything to do with your problem, but again, it just might. Try deleting your ~/.inkscape/preferences.xml file and restart. It occasionally happens that as people have newer and newer SVN builds of Inkscape, their existing preferences.xml is no longer suited to the current build. This has affected menus and dialogs in the past. It might be a remote possibility that it affects your mouse and keyboard too.
Just a guess, it might not be relevant at all.
