I noticed that as a result of your patch here:

now Inkscape always saves file with sodipodi:modified="true" because you moved the omod->save before that attribute is set to NULL instead of after as before. Was there any reason for it? It looks wrong, sodipodi:modified should never be saved I think. I fixed it by moving the NULLing of that one attribute before the actual save. Let me know if you see any problem with this:
