i've just tried BORKEN branch and i like it a lot. i have a small idea though: i think that first menu item called "Inkscape" now, should be renamed to "About" and moved to the right end of the menu bar. cause in most applications "File" is always the first menu item, and this is what users are used to (me too :-) thanks to all developers for great improvements! when do you plan 0.36? best regards yemu

I think we've had a good deal of discussion on this point and having an Application global menu fit well within a designers ken, followed by File which is less important.
In an SDI such as this, it's even less important that we maintain a consistant menubar, since applications aren't sharing the same one ( and therefore moving the menu items around due to longer application names. )

You can see what's left to be done on the RoadMap in Wiki: http://www.inkscape.org/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?DevelopmentRoadmap
We'll create a release when the relevant items in the Production - General and Interface & usability sections are done. If you're able to help on any of those items and want to help the release get here sooner, you can offer to pitch in with the tasks.
We'd love to have help in verifying bugs that have been submitted to Sodipodi and copying relevant ones over to Inkscape. No programming experience required - just let me know so we can coordinate.
