Re: [Inkscape-user] stroke stroking stroke

Argh. I fixed that bug yesterday in CVS. Sorry it was my mistake.
Should we wait a week or so (in case any other issues show up) and do a paper bag release (0.42.1) which patches them?

Actually a LOT of issues showed up, mostly with it not running etc, see our bug tracker. If we can fix them quickly, certainly 0.42.1 may be a good idea.

It looks to me like a lot of the issues are packaging issues for specific packages/distros/archs moreso than codebase problems, so it's also possible that package patches (i.e., 0.42-2) may be an option.
The two packages getting the most complaints seem to be OSX and the static rpm for Fedora Core. The latter issues may be solveable by simply uploading an FC rpm.
There are also a number of issues related to the Windows package regarding the file open dialog. Not sure about the cause of that one.

My open file crash on win98 didn't attract much attention and was never fixed. This may be it.

Ok ... we should probably start accumulating a list of patches to go into 0.42.1.
I suppose we could even start backporting/applying the obvious ones (like this stroke issue you fixed) to the INKSCAPE_0_42_BRANCH branch already. INKSCAPE_0_42 is (should be!) tagged, so we won't disturb that.
That might be preferable to simply accumulating a bunch of patches; dunno...

INKSCAPE_0_42_0, but yes it is tagged. And, INKSCAPE_0_42_BRANCH has been created.

Code patches: - stroke width (exists)
Build patches: - libgc/dlopen adjustments (a better patch for this is sitting on my HD, but CVS on SF is busted)
Packaging of the static RPM is finally breaking down (since other distros are moving at various speeds to various libgtk versions...)
As Bryce said (and I recommended on IRC) we need an FC rpm.

Ok, as these have been applied to HEAD, who wants to backport them to the 0.42 branch?
If nobody else wants to be "bag monkey" for the paper bag release, I'll do it if y'all send me the isolated patches.

Mine is simple:

Mine is also simple (attached).

I'm mostly offline for the next week...
Mental, here's another patch for crash bug 1247066 (already committed in CVS head).
