Hi, I'm updating the spanish translation and I find that the extensions have been incorporated to the po. That is a Good Thing (tm)! but I have a problem with the translation of some of the effects, for example:
"FretFind*": What does ET stand for in "FretFind Multi Length ET"?
"Kochify": What do they do, and what does Koch have to do with it?
"Summer's night": What does it do? Shakespearian reference?

Needs: one path object selected for 1. Kochify (Load): stores the subpath vectors of object
After that, select again (need not be same object) for 2. Kochify: apply stored vectors to each subpath of object.
The name is von Koch and he is the one with the snowflake fractal curve which is the simplest example of the general principle implemented.
Apparently, there is no official name for it so one was made up. I like it as I knew at once what was meant. The principle is a subset of what is called ILS fractals (or Lindenmeyer).
If this all is nonsense for you, ask Google for 'Koch snowflake'!

Would 'snowflakify' be more easily translated (aside from the fact it's not a real english word *grin*).

I really think the original names would benefit from a renaming.

This extension seems to be too specialized. Would anyone object if we drop it?

I'd propose "Fractalize" for this.

"Koch Fractal" perhaps? As in "Kock Fractal" (Effect) but the Effect is implied because it is in the Effect menu.
The suggested search keywords "Koch Snowflake" sound pretty good too, if it is good enough for Google?
(If I recall correctly there is a way for developers to add comments before translatable strings to warn about things words like Koch being a proper name.)

(I'd have gone for "Summer Night" because I'd be worried about incorrect use of 's and American versus British Grammar rules which vary slightly on the issue but unless you stick with the abstract artistic name the point is moot)
Envelope is also vague.
Is this related to the SVG Envelope which can be used for certian kinds of distortions? If so then it is great to see progress being made in that area so soon already.

Well, I don't know that we'll need to. As I'm hoping to have submenus working for 0.44 it will be out of the way enough that I don't believe it will be a detriment (aside from the small load up cost of parsing the INX file).
That isn't to say that I've ever actually used that extension :)

It uses the Koch curve along a path.I think it's enough representative in English, but please, don't translate to "Kochear". :)

My fault, Aaron wanted "perspective", but the algorithm idea came from a summers night. :-) I didn't wanted to use perspective because with this algorithm it's possible to create real euclidian and isometric perspectives. In the future they will be created so better not use this name.This could be used as a tool for other different things than perspective too. IMHO "Noche de verano" sounds better than "envelope" translation(too vague too). It's far from representative, but it is very easy to remember too, once you know. The use of this extension is very complicated, you need strictly to select a four points path first and the n only one object. If you don't do this way it wont work. Jose Hevia
