[Off Topic - I'll be interested to look up D3.js, to perhaps add it to the new page I'm making for the Inkscape website, about animation and Inkscape (first draft and still under development: http://staging.inkscape.org/en/learn/animation-and-inkscape). :-) ]
For the page from the website of graphics tool it looks overburdened with text. =)
As for D3.js I am going to try this tutorial. Looks real from here. http://christopheviau.com/d3_tutorial/d3_inkscape/

Yes, it looks that way at the moment, because instead of links, all the URLs are shown. When the page goes on the live site, all the text links will be made and the URLs will not be showing.
There are some amazing examples on the D3.js GitHub page! https://github.com/mbostock/d3/wiki/Gallery

A well known page on the web. =) But as far as I know none of SVG used are made with Inkscape. They seem to be drawn with D3.js itself, which is not as convenient as using Inkscape features.
