I need advice! I'm working on a new system that can provide free software GUI applications (like Inkscape, Scribus, GIMP, ...) with video tutorials directly linked to the GUI. Short: you click on an unknown button - and a browser pops up and shows what it does (html5/ogg-theora). My question concerns the identifier that links the functional part of the application to the video:
How do you think such an ID should look like?
You can also have a look at http://wiki.quicktorials.org to see what ideas were raised so far, or you can see the website in its early stage http://quicktorials.org. I would love to see a a standard that is easy to use by any project!

Hi, do you mean something like what Ubuntu does with their "Translate this" menu item under "Help"? It opens the Launchpad translation page of the program you are currently running.
