Win32 2000. autobuild 1 April.
The save as command is not adding SVG extension to files. This has happened in the past and was quickly fixed.
Today it's the first day ever that Inkscape can auto add extensions at all, so I'm not sure about how this could happen in the past. There's now a checkbox for this in the Save/Save as dialog - is it on?

Are we on the same wavelength? Inkscape has been auto adding extension svg for ages. For example in build 29 March.

Probably not.
What happened is that in the past week or so, I've done some pretty major work on the save and open dialogs. Unfortunately, I can only test and develop these on Linux. So currently, on Linux, you can choose any extension available and it will append the appropriate file extension. This has not been ported to Win32. If someone could do this, that would be great. I think it is a matter of taking a diff against the filedialog.cpp and just porting over those same changes.

The save as function is still not automatically adding svg extensions and the open function is still not seeing the non svg files generated.
