Some time ago I started a wiki page about a possible XML Repair service to be implemented in Inkscape, following bug reports and a feature request. A key point of this page was to have a lis of "wrong" files. I have posted one file to the invalid files section (=some files that inkscape cannot parse). I also added some files to the weird files section. I seems that many free scientific softwares output eps files which, after beeing converted to svg by pstoedit, behave strangely in inkscape. Vector graphics are very important in scientific work and requested by all scientific journals and it would be great if Inkscpae, being the great vector graphics editor it is, could help produce them.

I think you've got a great idea to build a collection of invalid files, and it's good that you're sticking to the issue diligently. Can you also generate pngs showing what the files *should* look like, and what they *do* look like? Also attach any error message output generated by Inkscape, as that can often be useful.
I suspect these problems are not ones that would be fixed soon, but maybe you can check it again for future versions and we can at least see if it's getting better or worse, or staying the same. ;-)
