Hello, everybody!
I am writing this message using a newly-subscribed address. As sourceforge started using SORBS, I could not send any message to Inkscape lists anymore. The machine my artemio.net site is hosted at got into their super-smart database, but this is a clear mistake - read below if you are interested. So now I have to use my other mail located on a US server.
The story.
I have two web sites hosted at the h2.prohosting.com.ua server (IP = 217.16.18.181). This IP is listed in the SORBS database, and they give the list of abusing hosts:
gotov.ru, kak-po-tv.ru, ckz.ru, asiapress.ru, ukt.ru, rakushki.ru, mebgamma.ru, autonomer.ru, corleone.ru, polikomplast.ru, koncert.ru, xprint.ru
However, NONE of these hosts are hosted at the server my site and my mail are located at. Here are the IPs these domain names point to:
PING gotov.ru = 217.16.16.121 PING kak-po-tv.ru = 217.16.16.116 PING ckz.ru = 217.16.16.109 PING asiapress.ru = unknown host PING ukt.ru = 217.16.16.124 PING rakushki.ru = 217.16.16.134 PING mebgamma.ru = 217.16.16.130 PING autonomer.ru = 217.16.16.115 PING corleone.ru = 217.16.16.110 PING polikomplast.ru = 217.16.16.133 PING koncert.ru = 217.16.28.166 PING xprint.ru = 217.16.25.105
They seem to have all 217.16.*.* addresses as abusing hosts. It's very nice but I don't have those $50 to pay to SORBS to have my address removed. I like anti-spam campaigns but not when they work against me, at the time when I myself try to fight spam.
Artemio.
Hi,

So now there's at least a slight chance that you'll actually receive my letters... I'm starting to think that a lot of filters are dropping my mail. (BTW the private letter you have not received was about an issue that you reported to this list: http://sf.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=975613&group_id=9343... )

Oh, this is very disappointing. I will see if I can get the sourceforge postmaster's attention. It looks like they're using the "all lists" RBL from SORBS will is bad because it contains the "Database of servers sending to spamtrap addresses" RBL which is _terrible_.
I used to use that too, but their spamtrap list is NOT well maintained. The "Dynamic IP Space (Cable, DSL & Dial Ups)" list is much better, and isn't redundant with a number of other zombie-scanning RBLs.
Ugh.
