Re: [Inkscape-devel] New student project : better image management

The clipping path thing sounds useful, but first the editable clipping path should be synchronized in size, rotation and position with the clipped object (bug #351281). At the moment it is disconnected and editing the original untransformed path looking at a transformed object is really annoying and lacks of precision.
I'm not against extra features, but this seems to be an extra target to be considered only after some issues like this are addressed.

That bug is specific to the old Node tool. I'm pretty sure new one by Krzysztof takes care of that. Please test his branch, the more testing it receives the better the new Node tool will be.

I just tested and indeed it does appear to be fixed in the new node tool (YAY!!!). Also, Krzysztof, you had mentioned the outline wasn't working with the clippaths/masks, however it worked here after I toggled it on (it just wasn't on by default).

I also thought it was just turned off by default but I couldn't find the option that was supposed to turn outlines on. :D Anyway, the correct default would be on for clip & mask and off for normal paths / shapes.
