Because we're now in the Chill phase of the release cycle, I need to inquire as to the status of any unfinished features for the 0.91 release.
We still have ample time before the release, but what we want is for any feature that will take more than a month or two to reach full maturity, to be postponed for a future release.
If you're working on a feature which you, or someone else, may legitimately consider to be not "release ready", please let me know asap.

I have a GUI for feComponentTransfer at
lp:~inkscape.dev/inkscape/component
that needs some testing/review. As this is basically independent of the rest of Inkscape, maybe I should just check it in.

Gtk+ 3.0 support is available using the --enable-gtk3-experimental configure flag, but it's very buggy and won't be ready in time for the 0.91 release. I guess we need to decide whether to disable the build flag to discourage people from using it, or to leave it there and treat it as an alpha-testing feature.

Having it behind a non-default config option wth 'experimental' in its name is a good practice, and probably good enough to prevent unwary users from running into it accidentally.

Hi !
I'm trying to fix (again) [Bug 167936] https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/167936
Not really a feature but it affects more than a few lines.
I based my work revision 12917 so please make it possible that I merge this before you close the release.
Since I'm taking this in the middle of process I don't know what are the schedule, rules etc..
The following files will be affected:
src/sp-style-elem.h src/sp-style-elem.cpp src/document.h src/document.cpp
Have a nice day.

Thanks for flagging this ongoing work, Bruno, I've added it to my list of features under development for tracking.
We're still a ways from Feature Freeze, so you have some time still. Focus on getting the stylesheet linking working very robustly; I would also suggest writing some unit tests to go along with it.
I will keep an eye on your progress and follow up with you later before the release is closed, to ensure you have an opportunity to get it in. The important thing is to make sure it is as bug-free as possible.

If you consider the implementation pretty much ready for use, then yeah get it landed soon so folks can get cracking at testing it.
If you are less certain it's ready to go, you could have another dev do a review of it (never a bad idea...)

I haven't really tested it yet, just launched and used some random values. The most visible thing is that the feComponentTransfer icon is missing in the infobox (apparently it doesn't even exist in the share/icons folder).

Thanks for testing!
I'll try to come up with a suitable icon... or if you could create one, that would be good too.
I have actually fixed two problems (crash on empty tableValue and update the display on changing type) and checked the code into trunk.

I had a look for the user interface that doesn't have an icon, but I couldn't find it. Actually went into the code to see if there was any new verbs or ui hooks. But I'm at a loss.
If you can say how I can bring up the ui, I'll have a look at an icon for it.

Most of the code cleanup made it's way into trunk a while ago. The handle work isn't large, but it's not complete yet.

Martin,
Thanks for flagging this.
Since you feel it needs more work, are you thinking you'll postpone until after 0.91, or are you hoping to see it land for 0.91?

I think I might cut the scope a little and get in what I have. That way it'll be able to get a bit of user testing in a release but still optional enough to not get in the way for most users.
Martin,
I have a few branchs in a team in launchpad with commit access to inkscape-devel users. I want to know the way to bring up.

Hi Jabier,
Thank you for implementing these nifty features.
It sounds like you have completed the implementation work for these four branches, but you want people to review the code to make sure it is good C++.
For each branch, you should check:
* Does the feature work properly? * Has a second person tried out the functionality? * Has someone read the code changes, to make sure they are good?
Once you can say yes to all of these, next ask someone to merge the branch to the main tree.
Once you have had two branches accepted, then you can request commit access, so you can merge branches yourself.
Let me know if you have more questions.

Excellent, thanks. It's good this is getting attention this early.
Anyone know of the status for the windows packaging? Is it basically good to go, or does it need some revamping as well?
