Have you seen Kees Cooks instructions on building static libraries? They might be helpful. Also, are you sure that glibmm is in the APBUILD_STATIC variable and has the right name? I'm not sure what'd be special about glibmm that makes it not work so I expect it's just a typo somewhere.

I think I need another hint. I found that I was also missing libglibmm-2.4.a, so I built and installed that. But autopackage still doesn't link it in to my package. The rest of gtkmm is working properly now.
